Business Development Manager (Fiji & Maldives)

• Develop, recommend and implement sales strategies to source new accounts and develop existing accounts that will meet the yield objectives of the resorts from Asia, specifically in the MICE, wholesale, online segments.
• Within established parameters, quote and negotiate prices with customer representatives, organise site-inspections, draw up agreements and follow up to obtain customer signatures to close the transaction.
• Actively participate in the development of new product and guest services in all revenue earning departments, consistent with the goal of exceeding guest expectations.
• Maintain close liaison with, and drive the Fiji & Maldives sales efforts of Starwood Global Sales Offices in Asia. Where appropriate, submit sales leads within the Starwood network.

• Demonstrate strong technical selling skills; opening, listening, presenting, negotiating and closing.

• Ensure that the service, preparation, storage of all beverage items are successfully executed ensuring maximum guest satisfaction consistent with W Retreat & Spa, Maldives standards by assisting Kitchen Manager on planning, organizing, directing and controlling the entire beverage operation and administration within the F&B Department.
• Responsible for managing the day to day operations of Kitchen / Fire / IRD as per directions of the Kitchen Manager in order to meet and exceed guests’ needs and business requirements whilst ensuring strong talent engagement and adherence to service standards and operating procedures.
• Assist Restaurant manager on organizing special events in the bars such as receptions.

• Experience in a similar role for 1 or 2 years in 5 star hospitality industry.

• Responsible for greeting and welcoming guests as they arrive at the resort. 
• Assist both arriving and departing guests with luggage handling.  
• Escort guests to and from their retreats and assist in luggage handling.
• Provide initial assistance information, and direct the guest to the welcome area. 
• Bid farewell to departing guests.

• Be punctual, efficient and above all, courteous. 
• Assume at all times a pleasing and helpful manner towards our guests.

• Assist guests efficiently, courteously and professionally in all Guest Relations related matters.
• Maintain a high standard of service and quality delivery at all times.
• Place emphasis on the promotion and cross-selling of in-house restaurants and facilities.

• Good and positive hospitality attitude.
• Good computer skill / office software.
• Preferably Mandarin or Russian Speaking.

• Conduct basic kitchen duties for individual section.
• Follow recipe standards and quantities produces outlined in the recipes.
• Facilitate the logistical support of product and work flow between sections and kitchens and assist in conducting store and kitchen control procedures as necessary.

• Implement solutions to user challenges and concerns associated with the use of personal computer equipment.
• Assist in promoting inter-departmental effectiveness and efficiency for optimum utilization of system resources.
• Responsible for the Starwood Technology Network Administrator in compliance with PCI Standards.
